Do you allow young children and offer cribs and high chairs?

Yes and yes.

Do I have to worry about cooking, cleaning, showering or brushing teeth with the tap water?

These houses are set up with a state-of-the-art water filtration system, so no worries when taking a shower, brushing your teeth, washing fruit and veggies, or even drinking straight from the faucet. We have two water sources (well and city aqueduct), both filtered through a three-stage system: Pentek “Big Blue” sediment filter, CareSoft twin water softener, and UV disinfection removing 99.99% of viruses and bacteria. Refrigerator water and ice go through an additional Everdrop filter, and house has a pH-balanced under-sink mineral filter with instant hot water. Filters are maintained every six months by professionals to ensure clean water at all times.

How can I make reservations for dinners, activities or rentals?

Our concierge will handle all of it for you - just send her a WhatsApp message with your request. A house landline is also available if you prefer to make reservations yourself.

Is there good surfing waves near the house?

Yes. Some of the best waves in town are directly in front of the house. Grab your board and walk to the beach for excellent surfing.

Will I see monkeys or other wildlife around?

Yes, and our property is one of the best spots for it. The many fruit trees attract all kinds of wildlife, especially White-faced and Howler monkeys, often visible just 20 feet away while you're enjoying the pool.

Will I need to rent a 4x4 vehicle to get around in town or to the house?

Town roads are about 90% paved and the private concrete road to the house is always accessible. While you don’t need a 4x4, it’s the better option - especially in rainy season or if you plan to explore rivers, remote roads, or beaches. Avoid small compact cars in wet months.

When are the rainy and dry months?

Rainy season typically starts in May and ends in November, with October being the wettest. Rain usually comes in the afternoon or night, and mornings are clear and sunny. The dry season runs from November through April or May - with full sun, cleaner surf, and a drier landscape as some trees shed leaves.

Will I need to bring an umbrella or flashlight?

You can bring your own, but the house provides both an umbrella and a flashlight for your convenience.

Is there a washer and dryer on site?

Yes, please use housekeeper's assistance to use them.

Can I pick the fruit from the trees on the property and eat the eggs that are made by your hens?

Yes, you can enjoy fruit like mango, apple, orange, grapefruit, lime, guanabana, and cherry directly from the property. We also have 10 hens that lay fresh eggs daily. Feel free to ask the caretakers for help picking fruit or collecting eggs - or visit the hen coop with them.

In case of a medical emergency, what are my options?

There are multiple doctors in town - including house-call doctors, walk-in clinics, and 24/7 emergency services. For serious cases, air transport by helicopter is available to larger hospitals.

Can I view sunsets from the house?

From February to July, the sunset disappears behind the trees just before reaching the horizon. From August to January, sunsets are fully visible from the house.

Such a wonderful house with THAT ocean view. You can listen to the ocean roar at night while swimming in the pool, with lovely garden lighting. House setup was amazing. Spent a week in paradise this past October at a beautiful house in Santa Teresa named Casa de Paz. Just minutes from the beach, the four-bedroom house was amazing — not just a four-bedroom, but a four-master-suite home! No one had to fight for the best room — they were all large and beautiful, with private bathrooms and balconies. The views were spectacular. Three rooms overlooked the private infinity pool and the ocean just beyond the forest. The full kitchen had everything — dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and wine glasses. The gardener maintained the lush landscaping and pool daily, and the housekeepers kept everything spotless. Monkeys visited daily. The people in town were warm, the food was delicious — try the fried yuca! Every beach was clean, the water warm. We can’t wait to go back.

We recently stayed at Casa de Paz. It didn’t have many reviews, but we quickly learned that’s because it’s brand new. Everything was perfect from day one. The home is surrounded by gardens and smells of plumeria and jasmine. It can be closed and air-conditioned or opened for outdoor living. It’s a short walk to the beach and restaurants, but still peaceful and quiet. Perfect location!
